Black Valentine

What’s your favourite colour? It takes only a split second for me to come out with the answer "Black". It is as simple as that. I have also heard many saying the same when posted with the question. Well it is not the same with my parents. For them it is inauspicious and they prohibited the use of black. In fact when I was not well once my mom blamed the black dress I wore. I had to wait almost 17 yrs to get my first black trousers after lot of struggle.... :) After I started earning I got most of my dresses in black and I just love wearing it though it doesn't suit my skin texture. For me it is just a wonderful colour which has all the colours within itself... :)

The first time I wore it was for our college symposium and a guy scolded me for wearing it for the function. The one who scolded me was bloody intelligent and I was taken aback to hear it from him. Even a guy who is that modern considers black to be inauspicious. Still the day turned out to be a one for many to remember. If not for many at least for me. Thanks to the guy who spread a rumour about me and a girl.

Now coming to the valentine part. All my friends in the hostel decided to wear black for the Valentine’s Day in my 3rd year and it has been a practice since then with me to wear black on that day. It just started as fun for us but I had an instinct that there is a reason behind it. I was trying to figure out what that was only then I realised that none of my friends who wore black that day had a girl friend. After quite a lot of thinking which finally was unnecessary I came to a conclusion... :) It was just a way for us to let out the frustration of not having girl friends.... :) Well many wouldn't accept this and still argue saying that it was just for fun. But the fact is they are letting their frustration out. If a guy or girl wears black dress on Valentine’s Day then there be 3 reasons for that

1. She/he has not had any luck in finding love.
2. She/he has had a break-up and they don't believe in love anymore.
3. She/he does not believe in love.

(99 % will come under these 3 categories the other 1% are the true innocents)

The first 2 categories are common and the reasons are acceptable. I really pity the one in the 3rd category. Even I was one among them. They are the jackals coming out of the vineyard saying that the grapes are sour after having tried umpteen times to get them and failed in all the attempts.... :) This is the bitter fact. To me there is actually none in the 3rd category and all has to move to the first.

Anyways I am sure that at some point of time in life anyone and everyone will be out of these 3 categories... :) Just love the way you can. But make sure you tell your love as it would too late if you don't let them know now. I say this because we are too bad in expressing love though we love a lot.

Reading all your previous posts I realized that you aren't single anymore. Congrats on that front! Hope you feel lucky and also the girl feels the same way :P

All the best dude!

About wearing black, yeah... I agree with you on that. But it is a funny way of protest, though people deep down inside would want to fly in love, it doesn't happen to them that often. A pity. Love in most cases is an accident, it happens. :P
